5 Star Blogs is an online blog directory that lists blogs from all over the world. The site features ranking, statistics, reviewing and commenting for all blogs listed. Every month, a blog is featured as the Blog of the Month. Discover new blogs through the top ten blogs and recently added blogs lists that appear on the home page along with categories.
The site uses different colored folder icons to represent the status of the blog or category. Green means updated today, blue is updated this week and orange is over a week since the last update. The search form comes with keyword, field and directory search options. If you browse by categories, you can see how many entries a category has as all of them have a number next to their names. An entry contains a thumbnail image of the blog, title, description, country, number of views, number of visits, rating and link.
It also comes with ranking, statistics, reviewing and commenting features as well as screenshots of all the blogs listed here. The site was formerly known as devblogs.
To submit your feed to 5 Star Blogs, you need to register. Once done, enter the blog title, URL, country, categories, description, whether or not to take a snapshot of the home page to use as a thumbnail and whether or not to allow comments and reviews of your blog. After you submit your blog, you can check its status by going to the Manage page.

TheVital.Net is a well-categorized blog and news search directory that's searchable. All entries are manually reviewed to ensure quality. Either enter keywords into the search box or select a category to browse. The category page lists subcategories and the number of blogs in each are shown in parenthesis. The list of sites appear with the title and a brief description. Click on the title to go to the entry's Web site.
To submit your feed to TheVital.net find the right category for the feed and click on Add Your Blog to This Category. If you can't find a suitable category, please choose the closest matching category and make a new category suggestion in the submission form. Enter the title, description, URL, first name, last name and reciprocal link.

BlogFlux is a directory of blogs that can be searched by tags, categories, country, language and groups. Blog Flux was created as the spiritual successor to the Eatonweb Portal (#35). The Portal, in its heyday, had been the best blog directory - lots of information, and a whote lot of user reviews. Unfortunately, as the site grew, the original webmaster was unable to keep the site up and running properly. BlogFlux targets itself as a portal for all your blogging needs including the directory, button maker and more.
Over 5300 blogs are listed and every one of them is manually checked on a weekly basis. Its user-friendly interface makes it easy to find the browsing tool that best fits your needs. Stay up to day on BlogFlux activities through its blog. An excellent and fast-growing resource.
To submit your feed to BlogFlux, you need to register first. After that, you just have to enter your blog name, URL (not RSS feed), and select a maximum of 10 categories where your blog best fits. It has other fields you can enter, but they're not required.

BlogSweet is a human-edited blog directory organized by categories and sub-categories. Enter keywords into the search box and search for a blog by category. The latest blogs added to the directory appear on the home page as well as in each category. You can suggest a category for adding to the directory. Each entry appears with its title and a description.
To submit your blog to BlogSweet, go to the right category and subcategory then click Submit A Blog. The site encourages donations or a reciprocal link otherwise it may or may not add the blog. Enter the blog title, URL, description, URL of reciprocal link (optional), and your email address.

149) Google Blog Search
Google Blog Search is a search engine that searches only blogs so you don't have to deal with the clutter of having non-blogs in your search results. Enter keywords and the results page not only displays blogs that have the keywords, but also shows a short list of related blogs. The difference is that the keyword doesn't simply appear in an entry. The related blogs tend to be blogs about the keyword.
Search results are sorted by relevance, but can be changed to sort by date. To improve your search results, click on the Advanced Blog Search link that appears next to the search button and modify it to your needs. Preferences lets you select the interface language, limit searches to selected languages, change the Safe Search filtering option, increase the number of results that appear on each page and a toggle to open the research in a new window.
There is no submission page. Google Blog Search finds blogs by checking their feeds as explained here. As long as your blog has pings an updating service, it should get included in Google Blog Search.
You can get an "Add to Google" button for your site to make it easier for people to discover your feed or module and quickly add content right to their Google homepage or Google Reader.

148) Blog Top Sites
Blog Top Sites is a directory of top sites based on ratings. Ranking is based on the number of unique visits the blog receives every week. The folks behind the site ensure there is no cheating and they do manual checks. For the sake of fairness every blog is reset to zero at the start of the week. You can see the dates of the last and next resets at the top of the Web site.
Blogs are rated by category as well for all entries. The ranking pages display thumbnails of the blogs, their titles, descriptions and stats. Select one to view more details, rate it, post a comment or email the site to a friend. You only have to register with the site if you wish to submit a blog, but it's not required for voting or commenting.
This site is a great way to discover quality blogs, but of course, it's not a complete list because of the requirements involved with submitting a blog. Popular blogs are unlikely to make the effort; however, the top blogs on the site look like good ones.
To submit a blog requires free registration and adding the ranking HTML to your blog. Start by adding your blog here. Once you agree with the rules, complete the registration form. You immediately receive an email with the code to put in your blog. Once you've registered, you can add more sites and get the HTML code from within the Control Panel.

FindingBlog is a blog directory with blogs sorted by category. The easy to use interface not only lets you browse categories, but also check the New Blogs, Hot Blogs and Top Rated blogs. The New Blogs list displays the new blogs by category. Hot Blogs and Top Rated display the blogs sorted by category along with their ratings. Each entry contains a title, URL, description, category, date added, rate it feature and links to write a review, add to your favorites, refer it to a friend, report broken link.
FindingBlog has a forum for discussing blog development, promotion, news, critiques and other general topics. The home page provides directory statistics including the number of blogs and categories included. Registration isn't required to submit a blog, but it allows you to bookmark blogs and post reviews.
To submit your feed to FindingBlog, review the rules on this page first. Then go to the category that best fits your site and click "Add a Blog" from that category and enter the blog title, URL, description, contact name, keywords or tags, and email address to submit your blog.

The House of Blogs is a directory of blog articles / entries sorted into categories. Its main language is Spanish, but the site has an English version. Though it shows it has French, German, Italian and Portuguese versions, they're not available yet and the site says they will be available soon. The site has an RSS feed for keeping up with its latest article updates.
The home page displays the latest articles and a summary of each along with a list of the last 100 articles. When browsing a category, a list of entries appears as opposed to a list of blogs. The blog name is in the () next to the entry title. Click on More... to see the full article. A comments form in Spanish appears below the article. If you wish to comment, it's asking for your name, URL, email address, comment and a security check (It asks "How much is... ?" complete the calculation for the answer).

FeedPark is a human edited Web feeds directory and search engine. Feeds are organized by categories and there is a separate directory for personal Web feeds, which cover personal blogs and feeds categorized by region. Discover new feeds through the Most Popular Webfeeds and Recently Added Feeds lists or use the search box.
Browsing the directory is similar to browsing Yahoo's directory structure. The top level page of the category contains its description. The number of entries appear next to the subcategories, so you know whether or not there are entries. The details for each entry include title, author, description, screen shot, language, latest headlines along with the date posted, preview link and subscription links. If you can't find what you're looking for through browsing and searching, try looking in the Similar Categories section near the bottom of the category page.
To submit your feed to FeedPark, find the right category for the feed and click on Submit Feed Here. Enter the URL of the feed and click Submit. You can also enter the owner or organization behind the feed, but it's not required.

Blogoriffic is a blog directory and blogger network community. Not only can you add and search blogs, but also you can connect with others. After registering for a free account, you can create a profile, add an image or avatar, add bloggies (buddies), keep a list of favorite blogs and invite others to join.
There are many ways to find blogs as well as meet other "bloggies" on the network. The home page, for instance, shows the latest blogs, featured blog, featured blogger, top blogs, latest bloggers and the blog directory so you can browse for blogs by category. You can add these blogs or bloggies to your favorites from these lists. Each blog has a detailed page with all the information entered when submitting a blog plus number of times viewed, number of hits, recent posts, comments and a list of other blogs by the bloggie, if any.
To submit your feed to Blogoriffic, enter your email address, name, create a password (you're registering as it's required to submit a blog), country, blog URL, title, description, feed URL (optional) and language. After you submit your first entry, you can add more from within your account. When you add the next one, category doesn't appear. To assign a category, go to My Blog, click Edit Blog, click Change Category and then select the category.

FeedPub is a categorized directory of blogs. You can browse by category or you can enter a URL or keywords into the search tool. Top Rated and New Links, of course, display the blogs that have received the best ratings or have recently been added. The results page neatly organizes the entries and provides a title, link to its site, description, popularity scale and comments.
To submit your feed to Feed Pub, select the appropriate category and then click Add URL. Enter your blog URL, title, description, email (for validation purposes) and reciprocal link. The site typically adds a qualified entry within 24 hours and lets you know. You can check the status of your link by clicking on Link Status on the bottom of the page and entering the URL you submitted.

Feeds2Read is a feed search engine and RSS directory with five categories including computer, media, miscellaneous, news, and programming. The categories have subcategories. After clicking on one, 10 feeds appear at a time and they can be sorted by date, URL and language. Every entry includes a title, short description, URL, copyright, date added, language and the feed link.
While viewing a feed's info, you can get the feed for your site, modify the colors to your preference and then simply copy and paste the code on your Web site. Another interesting feature is Try Custom Feed. It gives you the opportunity to enter a feed's URL, submit it and read it. Feeds2Read has a search box for entering keywords. The home page also lists the latest news, latest flows and randomly selected feeds.
To submit your feed to Feeds2Read, you need to enter your feed's URL, language, subcategory, and an optional description.

Feednation is a cross between a feed reader and collection of feeds packed with many features. To use it and submit your feeds, the site requires free registration. All you need to enter is an email address, user ID and create a password.
You can add your del.icio.us account in the Control Panel so you can pass tags you create in Feednation to the Del.icio.us account. Save a bookmarklet to your browser to add new feeds quickly and easily. Find feeds by browsing the groups or using search, which can search titles, feed content or tags. You can import an entire group into your account. Every feed has a preview and subscribe button along with its title, language and description.
You can create groups for sorting your feeds by categories or tags. Groups can be made public so others can import your feeds. Recent Groups displays the newest entries and Hot Groups are the currently popular groups. You can manage your feeds on the MyFeed page to move them into another group, toggle whether or not you want to receive emails whenever the feed has a new item and do a few other things.
To submit your feed to Feednation, you must be a registered user (free) and then all you need to enter is your feed's URL.

140) RSS-Feed
RSS-Feed is a feed reader and directory of feeds. The site is available in English and French. Feeds are sorted into categories, which include Computers, Games, Movies, Music, People and Science. Category pages list the latest news and a summary of each blog. Clicking Read the Feed provides a list of the latest headlines. Click on a headline to get more details. The site has a search tool for finding news by keyword.
Those using RSS Feed to read feeds can quickly add a blog to favorites with the Add to Favorites link shown in each blog summary. Currently, the site only accepts English and French feeds. A neat feature is the ability to merge two or more feeds to create one new feed. Click on Add to del.icio.us from any page you're on to create a new del.icio.us tag.
To submit a feed requires registration. The registration form only requires an ID and an email address. Once you've confirmed your email address, log in to the site with the ID and the password that came in the confirmation email. To submit your feed to RSS-Feed, you only need to enter your feed URL.
139) Feedminer
FeedMiner is a pure feed search engine for finding content by search keywords and getting the feed. Some sites hide their feeds and it's time consuming to find them. The search results display the title of the Web site or blog, brief information that appears in the start of the feed, a preview link and the feed link. Click on the title or Preview link to view the latest entries along with the description, posting timestamps and the title with a link to that entry's permalink. FeedMiner has a blog that provides updates on the search engine and feed-related news. FeedMiner is a great resource whenever you're trying to find the feed for a site. Enter that site's name and it quickly pulls it up, if it's available as not all sites have feeds and FeedMinder may not have it indexed yet.

Rojo is a free, web-based RSS feed reader with social networking capabilities. Rojo provides many features you can access after registering for free by entering your ID, email address, and password. Once submitted, it walks you through a wizard for personalizing your feeds. You don't have to fill in all of the fields or you can skip the wizard. Rojo has the following features:
- A feed directory that organizes RSS feeds around a set of categories
- A news search engine scanning millions of news sources and blogs
- An advanced organizing tagging functionality to categorize and sharing information
- Ability to sort feeds by feed tags, how frequently read, unread story count and name
- Ability to import and export feeds
- A sharing capability to share saved stories, feeds, tags of all of your contacts
Access the directory by clicking on explore. The directory is in Yahoo style with main categories and subcategories. You can also search for feeds by tags. You can limit your tag results to those from your account and those from your contacts or view all of them. You can find feeds through the Add a Feed page and search various feed providers including jobs, zip code, groups and more.
To submit your feed to Rojo you need to input your channel (web site address or feed URL) and the tags for feed here:

137) NewsNetPlus
NewsNetPlus is a blog and RSS feed search engine. NewsNetPlus has a simple interface for searching blogs by keywords and the results can be sorted by date or relevance. The search results come with a feed that you can add to your feed reader. Each entry in the search results has the title or headline, a brief summary, the source from where the entry comes, the date posted, a link to its feed, and a preview link. The preview link lists the source's more recent entries. Clicking on the title or headline takes you directly to the entry. Clicking on the source link takes you to the source's Web site rather than the entry.
Some sites make it difficult to find their feeds, so this search comes in handy. If you want the feeds for a newspaper Web site, enter the newspaper's name to search. The results should provide a feed to the newspaper's content. If not, you can add the search result feed that appears at the top of the results into your feed reader. You can switch sorting preferences while on the results page. If your results are sorted by date, you can click on Sort by Relevance to change it.
To submit your feed to NewsNetPlus, enter your feed's URL and that's it. Fast and easy. Note: the submit feed feature supports all RSS versions. The capability to support Atom-based feeds is coming soon.

Storyfinder is an interesting directory of RSS Newsfeeds hand-picked by Blogscholar editors. The site also has news items and archived posts about academic blogging.
To submit your blog to BlogScholar, start by registering with the site. Once you register, you can submit directory listings, news feeds, and news about academic blogging.
If you wish to submit an RSS Newsfeed for consideration to the StoryFinder directory, admin at blogscholar.com with a link to the feed and a proposed category. Remember, only a few make this list, so don't feel hurt if your feed is not accepted for inclusion as the editors receive far more feed submissions then we can accomodate in our editorial policy.

To submit your feed to The Blog Resource, you need to enter your blog title, URL, your name, your email, and select the right category. You can also optionally add a description and a reciprocal link URL. What's nice is if you want to enter multiple blogs, after you enter one -- another form appears with your name, email, and category completed based on your previous entry. It doesn't cost anything to submit, but you can have a featured link for a fee.

Blogtagstic is a human moderated blog directory with tags. All links in this blog directory go straight to the blogger's site without redirects to improve individual blog's backlinks. This directory is different from most directories as it uses tags instead of categories for browsing. Click on a tag and a list of blogs related to that tag will appear. Each blog listed in the directory comes with its title, description and related tags.
To submit your feed to Blogtastic, you need to enter your blog title, URL, at least one tag (you can have up to three), and a blog description. It's possible to submit two or three keyphrase tags as well.

Jordo Media is an RSS / Atom feed directory organized by content categories, new, popular, top rated and editor's picks. You can also click on Random to see a random feed. You can also search feeds by keywords. Each day a new feed appears in the Feed of the Day box on the right side of the home page with the title, description and date added. The Top 20 Feeds and Last 20 RSS Feeds appear in the left column under the main menu. Users can directly rate feeds in the directory. If you subscribe to Jordo Media, you can also create your own page of subscriptions.
The site also has a photo gallery where you can upload photos, create albums, rate and add them to your favorites album.
To submit your feed to Jordo Media, you need to input your feed URL, select a category, select a group (adult, teen or all) and enter your name and email address.
After you press Submit, a preview of your feed information appears along with some of your recent entries. You may have to fill in the rest of the gaps such as the title and description.

At press time, the directory doesn't have many entries yet, but it's growing. It creates a new page just for your site, which includes the title, description, headlines, links to your articles, feed link, and site link.
To submit your feed to FeedBomb, work your way through the directory based on the categories that best fit your blog or feed. Keep selecting a category until you see [ Submit Feed ] and click on that. Enter the home page URL, title, short description up to 75 characters, feed URL, and feed type (RSS or Atom). New sites appear instantly along with a NEW label.

To submit your feed to Bloguse, you need select a category and enter title, URL, RSS URL, Description, link type (regular or reciprocal), Reciprocal link (if you select reciprocal link type), and email address (only if you want to be notified when the link is approved). You can also register a user account so you can edit your link, otherwise it is not required.
You can try to enter just the category and URL, the click "Get title and description" button as it tries to fill in some of the fields for you. Whether or not it works depends on your meta data information.
